EZShield, a company that pioneered identity theft protection nearly a decade ago and today uses its experience and expertise to anticipate all forms of identity-related fraud, today announced that it ranked first overall (93% - 10 points higher than next vendor) for fraud resolution in Javelin Research and Strategy's 2010 Annual Identity Protection Services Scorecard -- widely recognized as the pre-eminent evaluation of the market space. EZShield also achieved a perfect 100% rating for customer support.

EZShield's top-rated fraud resolution service is available as an affordable a la carte option. Unlike many competing vendors, EZShield offers its services in flexible packages so businesses and consumers are able to purchase only the services that make sense for their specific needs.

Javelin evaluates ID protection services vendors on the basis of breadth of services, resolution capabilities, customer support, price and Better Business Bureau accreditation.

"EZShield performed very well in the 2010 scorecard," said Robert Vamosi, Analyst, Security, Risk and Fraud at Javelin Research and Strategy. "With a combination of credit monitoring and personal information monitoring, EZShield is in a strong position to address fast-evolving threats."

The Scorecard notes that identity protection remains relevant and necessary for consumers as ID fraud rose to $54 billion in value for 2009, a 12.5 percent increase year over year. Javelin also found that the number of victims in the US climbed to 11.1 million from 9.9m in 2008 and 8.1 in 2007, a 37 percent increase in the two-year period.

"Identity theft continues to grow quite dramatically - but much can be done to mitigate the risk and damage it inflicts on consumers and businesses every year," said Dale Dabbs, CEO, EZShield. "Comprehensive and trustworthy services are a key tool in the fight, and Javelin's scorecard provides an objective and truly valuable assessment of the offerings in the field."
