(Konica Minolta), a leading provider of advanced imaging and networking technologies for the desktop to the print shop, has continued its commitment as title sponsor of two of the “must-attend” events in lacrosse for 2011, the Konica Minolta Face-Off Classic and the Konica Minolta Big City Classic. The Konica Minolta Face-Off Classic will be played on Saturday, March 12, 2011 at M&T Bank Stadium in Baltimore. The Konica Minolta Big City Classic will be played on Sunday, April 3, 2011 at the New Meadowlands Stadium in New Jersey.

Game No. 1 – Syracuse vs Georgetown (11a)
Game No. 2 – Cornell vs Virginia (1.30p)
Game No. 3 – Johns Hopkins vs UMBC (4p)

Now in its fifth year, the Konica Minolta Face-Off Classic gives fans the chance to celebrate the start of another season by placing many of the nation’s top ranked teams in the same stadium on the same day. This year the event moves to the second weekend of March, with three games scheduled at M&T Bank Stadium.
Big East rivals Syracuse and Georgetown will face off in the first game at 11a ET. The Orange will enter the 2011 season eager to assert their championship pedigree after last year’s surprising NCAA Quarterfinal exit. The new-look Hoyas will be hungry to make their own statement of intent while making their first appearance in the event. The second game starts at 1.30p and features a pair of NCAA Semifinalists from a year ago with Cornell vs. Virginia. After advancing to three of the last four Memorial Day weekends, Cornell’s new head coach Ben DeLuca is ready to place his own stamp on the Big Red program. With an experienced roster headlined by proven scorers, the Cavaliers will enter the new season on the shortlist of national title favorites. The third game features a local Baltimore rivalry with Johns Hopkins and the University of Maryland, Baltimore County (UMBC) facing off at 4p. Johns Hopkins endured an up-and-down season a year ago that ended with a loss in the NCAA first round (albeit to eventual champ Duke). The Blue Jays return a young but talented lineup ready for a fresh start in 2011. The Konica Minolta Face-Off Classic is an opportunity for UMBC to pick up a high-profile win early in the season after a streak of four straight NCAA tournament appearances was snapped in 2010.
2011 Konica Minolta Big City Classic Returns to the New Meadowlands Stadium with the following lineup:
Game No. 1 – Rutgers vs St. John’s (1p)

Last year the Konica Minolta Big City Classic broke the attendance record for a regular season, lacrosse-only event with 25,742 fans at the state-of-the-art New Meadowlands Stadium.
The schedule for the third edition of the Konica Minolta Big City Classic has been set. Big East neighbors Rutgers and St. John’s will face off in the first game at 1p ET. The second game will be Johns Hopkins vs. North Carolina at 4p. The third game will feature a match-up between the 2010 NCAA Champions from Duke and perennial national power Syracuse. The Blue Devils and Orange will face-off at 6.30p in their first regular season meeting since 1992.

Information on ticket packages as well as on sale dates will be made available in October 2010 for both the Konica Minolta Face-Off Classic and the Konica Minolta Big City Classic.
