The Industry Insider Screenwriting Contest is now accepting entries for their quarterly screenwriting competition. This one-of-a-kind contest presents a stellar logline from a successful screenwriter, and asks entrants to create up to the first 15 pages of the script. Finalists enter a 12-week mentoring program with the goal of completing a full screenplay. The lucky winner receives a full Hollywood experience, including lush accommodations at the Chateau Marmont, lunch at The Ivy with screenwriter Simon Kinberg, and one-on-one meetings with Industry insiders like Benderspink.

“Many script competitions just award writers with a ‘finalist’ or ‘winner’ label, leaving them adrift after the initial glow wears off,” said Jesse Douma, co-founder of Industry Insider Contest and President of The Writers Store. “The Industry Insider Screenwriting Contest goes so much further, offering finalists expert guidance throughout the entire script creation process, with the winner receiving unparalleled access to Industry leaders.”

Entrants create up to the first 15 pages of a script based on a logline from an established screenwriter. This quarter’s logline comes from Simon Kinberg, the scribe behind blockbusters "Sherlock Holmes" and "Mr. & Mrs. Smith": “A spy who has spent life wining and dining young women suddenly gets a major surprise when his daughter knocks on the door.”

The top 10 finalists receive Development Notes and enter into a 12-week mentoring program with The Writers Store’s Story Specialists, consisting of feedback and guidance for every 10 pages submitted, with the goal of completing a screenplay that will be judged by Kinberg and Benderspink. The lucky winner receives transportation and accommodations in Hollywood, lunch with Kinberg, a one-on-one with a top Industry agent, a meeting with Benderspink, and more.

This quarter’s competition is supported by The Writers Store, Final Draft screenwriting software, and production company Benderspink. Future sponsors and loglines from A-list screenwriters will be announced soon.

The deadline to enter is November 30, 2010. For complete details and to enter, visit http://IndustryInsiderContest.com.
