Xtreme Labs, a Toronto-based mobile app development and consulting firm, today announced that six of its mobile applications developed for the BlackBerry smartphone have been selected as regional winners in the BlackBerry Partners Fund-sponsored BlackBerry “Super App” Challenge.
“We’re excited that our apps are getting positive recognition and reviews, not just with BlackBerry users around the world, but also through competitions like the Super App Challenge,” said Amar Varma, co-founder of Xtreme Labs. “Our work deserves to be recognized, as do our talented developers who have built these amazing apps for our clients.”
Urbanspoon, Fixmo, Dictionary.com, Match.com, Citysearch and NBA Game Time are amongst the BlackBerry mobile applications developed by Xtreme Labs that received regional honours from the BlackBerry Partners Fund. The selection of regional winners will be whittled down as semi-finalists are announced on Nov. 1, 2010.
According to the BlackBerry Partners Fund, all applications in the Super App Challenge are judged on quality, user experience and how effectively they have incorporated "Super App" characteristics, which take advantage of the BlackBerry application platform's unique capabilities.
“We are looking forward to the next round of the Super App Challenge,” said Varma. “We’re proud of our selection as regional winners and we can’t wait to see the Xtreme Labs-developed applications continue to succeed in this competition.”
