Cary, IL (PRWEB) October 1, 2010
Tess Hurley, a senior care consultant for the free eldercare referral network A Silver Connection (http://www.asilverconnection.com), was a guest on the Sept. 10 broadcast of “Friends Over Fifty,” a weekly program airing on the Will County (Illinois) news, talk and sports station WJOL-1340/AM.
Hurley, an Oak Lawn resident, described her job helping seniors, their families and other professionals throughout Chicago’s near southwest suburbs (Oak Lawn, Palos Heights and Burr Ridge) find appropriate senior housing and care options, including retirement communities, independent living, assisted living, memory care, supportive living, skilled nursing, and in-home care. A Silver Connection bases referrals on seniors’ health status, geography, budget and other factors.
“We also help families identify resources, such as veterans benefits, which can help pay for care,” said Hurley, who has worked with seniors her entire career and helped her own parents find a community that embraced them during the last years of their lives.
“Nothing brings me as much satisfaction as when a family thanks me for guidance I gave them in finding the perfect community for their parent,” she added.

“Friends Over Fifty” airs from noon to 2 p.m. each Friday following the news broadcast. Hosts Ed Kerfin and Ross Novak discuss financial, health care and lifestyle issues with featured guests.
