Laurel Springs School, an accredited, private school offering distance learning curriculum with exceptional teacher services for kindergarten through 12th grade, announces that the school meets new requirements set by the NCAA for Division I Eligibility.

"We want families to know that we are an accredited private school that adheres to the high school eligibility requirements defined by the NCAA." Laurel Springs is the school of choice for the college prep student who wishes to grow and excel academically and personally while keeping a flexible and self-paced schedule. Laurel Springs has an outstanding record of helping students enter the college of their choice and fulfilling their academic and career ambitions.

Laurel Springs School adheres to high standards for academic excellence that the NCAA requires. The school’s 36- and 18-week courses require students to dedicate four to five hours per week, per course (AP and honors courses require additional hours). The Laurel Springs curriculum helps students develop critical thinking, writing and reasoning skills so that they are well-prepared for college. Laurel Springs courses have a defined period of time for completion. Full year courses are designed to be completed within ten months and semester courses are to be finished in within five months. Students may not test out of a class or significantly shorten the time required to complete a course. Courses are designed to ensure students are qualified for the rigors of college course work.

Laurel Springs School provides opportunities for regular interaction between teachers and students with a unique focus on offering academic support and building relationships. Students and parents have frequent communication with their teachers who grade all their lessons. All grades are posted on the Laurel Springs online grade book, to ensure families are kept up to date on their students’ progress. Students receive support with time management and guidance for pacing their course of study. Laurel Springs teachers provide students and parents with the opportunity to meet during designated hours in their virtual office, by phone, or email. In addition, students are assigned a homeroom teacher who frequently communicates with their students, parents, and teachers, keeping everyone fully informed as to students’ progress. Laurel Springs teachers are required to hold a teaching credential or, in the case of a college or university professor, demonstrate years of teaching in their field. Teachers are encouraged to complete their master's degree, and many have completed doctoral degrees.
