Success In Sweatpants Calls on Self Employed Solos to Showcase Why They Chose to Be Solo; Grand Prize Winner Gets a Brand New 64G iPad

President Obama signed the Small Jobs Act this week calling small business owners the “anchors of our Main Streets,” who validate for others that America remains a country where you can achieve your dreams if you’re willing to work hard. Solo business owner, Trish Lambert could not agree more, and to shine a spotlight on these dream workers, announced today the “Fuzzy Bunny Slipper” contest. The photo-essay contest will recognize the most passionate, creative real-world demonstrations of hard working solos and will reward the Grand Prize winner with a brand new 64G iPad.

“Solo professionals have long led the evolution of how and where we work,” said Trish Lambert, Owner of Success in Sweatpants. “It was the solo professional who demonstrated to the business community that work could be accomplished by professionals with specialized expertise without day to day contact and a conventional office environment. This contest celebrates these pioneers and allows us to shine a spotlight on this deserving segment of the business community.”

The "Fuzzy Bunny Slipper" contest begins on September 29, 2010 and ends with the winners announced on October 28, 2010. The contest will allow solo business owners to share their stories and given them an opportunity to earn their moment in the spotlight. To take part in the contest, participants need to:

1. Submit a photo and essay of no more than 500 words that answers in some way, “Why Are You a Solo Business Owner?” Participants are encouraged to be creative, real and show their passion.

2. Become a fan of the Success in Sweatpants Facebook page ( and go to the contest page to submit your details.

3. Publish and promote your entry via social media (use #fuzzybunny), email or word of mouth and encourage people to vote for you.

The contest is open to all solo business owners. The first phase of winner selection is by popular vote. The twelve finalists with the most votes will be included in the 2011 Success in Sweatpants calendar and move on to compete for the Grand Prize. For full submission guidelines, visit

After narrowing the contestants to a set of finalists, the Grand Prize, second and third place winners will be selected by an elite panel of judges including Mike Michalowitz, the Toilet Paper Entrepreneur, Denise Wakeman, blogging and social media expert and founder of The Blog Squad, and Donna Amos, International Association of Solopreneurs.
