Never doubt that a small group of committed citizens can change the world; indeed, it is the only thing that ever has
Belleville, NJ (PRWEB) October 19, 2010
Dr. Kathleen T. Ruddy today announced the launch of The Pink Squadron website http://www.thepinksquadron.org at a press conference held at the Clara Maass Medical Facility in Belleville, NJ. The website will create a database of women ready to participate in research studies focused on the breast cancer virus. Existing research has indicated that a virus may be responsible for up to 40% of new breast cancer cases.
Recently Dr. Ruddy described the importance of The Pink Squadron project in her blog, http://breastcancerbydrruddy.com/.
Today the PURE CURE Takes Flight: Introducing The Pink Squadron
Beginning today every single woman in the world can join the Breast Health & Healing Foundation’s quest for the PURE CURE for breast cancer, prevention. Today I will officially launch a new website, the Pink Squadron, an online registry of women “on call” to participate in studies related to the breast cancer virus and the first preventive breast cancer vaccine.
While researchers are preparing plans and studies to answer the question, Does a virus cause breast cancer in women? – and while other researchers design protocols to move from the “bench to the bedside” with the first preventive breast cancer vaccine, women can do their part right now by joining the Pink Squadron to join our strategic mission for the PURE CURE, to end breast cancer by finding its causes and preventing it entirely. Breast Health & Healing is the only breast cancer foundation with this specific mission in mind; it has been our mission from the moment it was born, more than three years ago. It’s our mission and we’re going to stick with it – just like any good strike force that knows its target and intends to reach its goal.
"Today I would like to invite all women around the world to visit our website, thepinksquadron.org, and learn more about this wonderful new project, a collaborative effort between the Breast Health & Healing Foundation and the Clara Maass Medical Center, my wonderful hospital which is part of the largest healthcare system in the state of New Jersey where I was Medical Director of the Breast Service after completing the first Fellowship on the Breast Service at Memorial Sloan-Ketterying in 1995, until 2006 when I left to begin the International Masters for Health Leadership at McGill University."
"I want to thank everyone who has helped design and execute the Pink Squadron. And I want to thank each and every woman who joins us in this noble mission for the PURE CURE, prevention of breast cancer.
“Never doubt that a small group of committed citizens can change the world; indeed, it is the only thing that ever has,” said Margaret Mead. "Ladies, I don’t need 'a million women' to join the Pink Squadron – though I would welcome each and every one with open arms and hugs and smiles. We can complete our mission for the PURE CURE with a much smaller group, like strike forces everywhere else in the world. I need a few good women – the brave, the committed, the earnest, the patriotic, the tenacious, the gritty, the sweet, the kind, the generous, the smart, the sharp; in short, women who know that to get things done, we just have to do it ourselves. Together. Game on! Thank you, each and every one. God bless us. God bless America. And God bless the Pink Squadron."
