Chicago, IL (Vocus) October 5, 2010
The Catholic Company, a catalog and e-retailer of Catholic books and gifts, announces its Director of Marketing, Nicholas Cole, will present at the Internet Retailer Mobile Commerce Forum on October 13.
The Mobile Commerce Forum is the first conference and exhibition to focus exclusively on mobile commerce and will take place both October 12 and 13 at the Hyatt Grand Regency in Chicago. Mobile sales in 2009 were an estimated $1.2 billion, according to ABI Research.
Cole will present on a panel discussion of mobile design titled Designing for Mobile: Create a new mobile site or go with your web site? The Catholic Company launched a mobile version of its site in March 2010. The mobile design was done in-house with the assistance of vendors The Catholic Company uses for its main e-commerce site.
Two schools of thought exist when it comes to web page presentation on mobile—design a mobile site separate from the e-commerce site or let the mobile device reflect the e-commerce design. This Mobile Commerce Forum session will explore both these strategies and help attendees know which approach is right for their own products and services. Imad Mouline, Chief Technology Officer of Gomez will also present during this session.
Nicholas Cole is responsible for web operations and development, e-mail and affiliate marketing, merchandising, social media, and customer care for Trinity Road, the owner of The Catholic Company and other religious and inspirational niche brands. Prior to Trinity Road, Nicholas held an online media sales position at Freedom Communications and was director of marketing for Not Lame Recordings, a niche record label, cataloger, and online music store.
The Mobile Commerce Forum speaker roster features executives from all areas of mobile commerce: event and movie ticketing, travel, entertainment, retailing and not-for-profit groups. The Mobile Commerce Forum will also feature 35 exhibitors who will display the latest mobile technology and marketing techniques.
