Globanet receives certification and support from Symantec to use the Globanet Email Migrator (GEM) with Enterprise Vault

Globanet 's Email Migration Software GEM

GEM has already been extremely successful with migrations from EmailXtender and a variety of other platforms.

Globanet (http://www.globanet.com) today announced that its email migration software Globanet Email Migrator, also known as GEM, has been certified by Symantec for use with Enterprise Vault. A gold-level Symantec technology partner, Globanet is a global leader in specialized software for data migration with a specific focus on Enterprise Vault.

Symantec’s certification of GEM signifies that the product has been approved according to its standards and is ready to handle the nuances of email migration, particularly those of EMC (Legato) EmailXtender.

“We [Globanet] decided to test against EmailXtender despite its reputation as the toughest example of competitive displacement,” said Sevag Ajemian, President of Globanet. “Being able to prove that we are the best at handling the intricate details of migrating EmailXtender archives was something we set out to do from day one. GEM has already been extremely successful with migrations from EmailXtender and a variety of other platforms and we strongly intend to continue our efforts to address other sources of legacy archived data.”

Over the past decade, Globanet has established one of the world’s leading practices in Enterprise Vault, the acknowledged leader in the archiving space. Globanet was the first partner to implement Enterprise Vault in North America, beginning in the late 90’s, prior to Enterprise Vault’s purchase by Veritas and subsequent absorption into Symantec. In addition to hundreds of implementations of virtually every size and type, including several of the nation’s largest installations, Globanet provides a variety of additional services including long-term Enterprise Vault residencies.

Using the Globanet Email Migrator (GEM), clients can consolidate archived email data into Enterprise Vault and retire their previous archiving systems. Once consolidated, clients can decrease costs by eliminating the need to maintain multiple environments. GEM also addresses the concerns of organizations that are unwilling to abandon their existing systems for fear of loss of data integrity or breech of chain of custody during migration efforts. In addition, GEM enhances Enterprise Vault's existing functionality for organizations already using Enterprise Vault.

GEM is an application developed by Globanet to provide seamless migration of data from a variety of information sources into Enterprise Vault. It transfers email archive data from numerous platforms such as Iron Mountain Email Management, Zantaz Digital Safe, GFI MailArchiver, AXS-One, Tumbleweed Communications, and EMC (Legato) EmailXtender. GEM can migrate email archives into Enterprise Vault (EV), migrate EV data across hardware, migrate between different EV sites, reprocess existing data archived in earlier versions of EV to provide cost savings on storage, and repatriate email data from hosting providers.
