A group of expert reviewers from Review Master has launched a website to allow Swipe Auctions customers to provide their own reviews of the popular penny auction site.
The site, swipeauction-review.com, was created to collect user reviews of the Swipe Auctions site. The site owners believe they can make the swipeauction-review.com site profitable through advertising partnerships and the growing interest in Swipe Auctions.
“Swipe Auctions has become increasingly popular over the past few months,” said Andre, a site partner. “In fact they now have over a million users and I think they could be the next eBay. But until now there hasn't been an open forum for their users to post positive or negative experiences.”
The site’s initial review is positive, with only some mild reservations. Overall they seemed to be happy with the potential that Swipe Auctions offers and look forward to hearing from other customers about their personal experiences.
Andre said they have already started to see Swipe Auctions user reviews come in, and most of them so far have been positive.
“The only reviews we have received that haven’t been rave reviews have mostly come from people who were confused about how penny auctions work,” Andre said. “They came from people expecting to have an eBay-like experience, and didn’t realize that Swipe Auctions offers something different.”
Like any penny auction site, Swipe Auctions is considerably different than eBay. On penny auction sites, people pay for packages of bids they can spend on auctions for popular brand-new consumer products. Each time they place a bid a penny is added to the price and time is added to the clock. There are no third-party sellers or used goods, which are the typical fare found on a traditional online auction site.
Swipe Auctions also offers hourly, daily and monthly contests that allow bidders to win free merchandise if they participate in many auctions. “Most penny auction sites don't reward their most dedicated customers,” Andre said. “Swipe Auctions does, which impressed us. We see these guys as the industry leaders, they know how to attract and keep their customers.”
