The PLS Check Cashers/PLS Loan Store location at 103 E. Crosstimbers Street in Houston has been honored with the “Most Improved Store Appearance” Award by the Financial Service Centers of America (FiSCA), the trade association representing the nation’s financial service center providers.

This is the first year that the “Most Improved Store Appearance” Award has been presented. “We are pleased the first winner’s store exemplifies an improvement that will serve as a model for our industry,” stated Robert M. Zweig, chairman, FiSCA Store Appearance Committee. “The PLS store in Houston demonstrates successful application of FiSCA’s store appearance best practices and provides an example from which all FiSCA members can learn.”

FiSCA chairman Joseph Coleman presented the award during a special ceremony at the FiSCA Annual Conference on October 3, 2010.

The 103 E. Crosstimbers location is shared by PLS Check Cashers and PLS Loan Store, with a common lobby space. The location was planned and designed to allow each store to convey its distinctive look and brand identity. Construction on the space was completed in September 2009.

“We’re very gratified and honored by this recognition from our peers in the industry,” said Bob Wolfberg, President, PLS. “And we’re extremely proud of our new Crosstimbers store. It’s a model for future PLS shared locations.”

“With this new store design, we were looking to combine a high level of professional service with a friendly, accessible, welcoming feel,” said Ken Crane, Vice President, PLS Realty. “Our customers have told us they’re very pleased with the new design.”
