http://www.AppPicker.com last week launched version 2.0 of its website integrating the full App Store inventory of apps for the iPhone, iPod Touch and iPad. In addition, users can now search for apps according to language, game sub-categories, and device type.
“With over 250,000 apps available in the App Store, we wanted to give users a better way to search for apps they might like,” said Luis A. Gutierrez, Founder and CEO of Dutz Technologies, LLC, publisher of http://www.AppPicker.com. “Users can now search for iPhone/iPod Touch apps or iPad specific apps, apps in non-English languages and in specific game genres. So, for example, if you want to read a book written in French on your iPad, you can find such apps in our website. Or, if you want to find the best role playing games for your iPhone or iPod Touch, we’ve made that easy to do.” AppPicker makes available apps in 31 languages and 19 subcategories of games (e.g. Action, Kids, and Strategy).
Aside from discovering apps on their own, users can also read reviews written by AppPicker staff and download interesting ones from the App Store via the website. AppPicker is an official iTunes affiliate.
“At some point, apps will be used more than websites and people need robust tools to find the right recreational, business, and educational apps for them,” said Luis A. Gutierrez. “There aren’t many websites like AppPicker who have taken a special feed provided by Apple and opened up the entire app database for viewing. The website is updated frequently throughout the day so you can see new apps as they are approved by the App Store and stay up-to-date on the most popular apps.”
AppPicker is currently working on version 3.0 which will feature enhanced original content, app contest giveaways (currently in http://www.twitter.com/AppPicker) and a variety of other features. Version 3.0 is expected to go live in late 2010.
