“Providing an engaging and inclusive environment is a reflection of our core values at DuPont. It’s important to our employees and vital to our business,” said Maritza Poza-Grise.

DuPont scored 100 percent on the Corporate Equality Index (CEI) released recently by the Human Rights Campaign (HRC). The index measures equity in workplace policies and benefits for bisexual, gay, lesbian and transgender (BGLT) employees. The Human Rights Campaign surveyed more than 618 corporations across the United States in 2010.

“We are thrilled to be recognized with a perfect score on the Human Rights Campaign’s Corporate Equality Index,” said Maritza Poza-Grise, vice president – DuPont Human Resources. “Providing an engaging and inclusive environment is a reflection of our core values at DuPont. It’s important to our employees and vital to our business.”

DuPont’s 100 percent rating is a result of high scores in: inclusion of sexual orientation, gender identity and/or expression in our non-discrimination policy, availability of employee-provided domestic partner health insurance, and a corporate sponsored BGLT employee resource group.

“The unique identities and perspectives that our employees bring to the workplace enrich our corporate culture allowing us to better serve the changing needs of our customers around the world,” Poza-Grise added.

Launched in 2002, the HRC Foundation's Corporate Equality Index has become a roadmap and benchmarking tool for U.S. businesses in the evolving field of lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender equality in the workplace. The HRC Foundation is committed to keeping the criteria for the Corporate Equality Index rigorous, fair and transparent by identifying emerging best practices that improve the experiences of LGBT employees of participating businesses.

In 2010 DuPont also was specifically recognized for its support of flextime, childcare facilities and discounts along with its on-going support for working mothers by Working Mother magazine. And, it was also listed as one of the most attractive employers in the world by a survey conducted globally by Universum.
