Finding Happiness in Four-Legged Friends

Author shares delightful stories of unforgettable pets in new book.

From published author Robert G. Smith comes another heartwarming collection of stories as he releases his third book through Xlibris, Sixty-Five Years of Four-Legged Friends. This time, he treats animal lovers as he shares delightful stories that celebrate the lives of the unforgettable animals which he and his family shared the last sixty-five years.

The author was six years old when he had his very first buddy—an adorable Spitz named Fluffy. They grew up together and did everything together. After eleven years of laughter and tears, Fluffy went on to wait for him at the Rainbow Bridge. But her passing was just the beginning of the author’s wonderful life shared with four-legged animals. Through vivid narration, Smith relives his many encounters and adventures with dogs, cats, ponies, and cows. While on some occasions saved from being strayed, and on other times acquired as gifts from friends or bought from pet shops, each of the animals—whether young or old and big or small—had a special place in the author’s life.

From crazy shenanigans to lesson-filled failure, from funny experiences to tragic accidents, Sixty-Five Years of Four-Legged Friends captures one man’s amusing, inspiring, and simply beautiful moments shared with creatures that may not be able to talk but could very well respond with affection and reciprocate with love.

Sixty-Five Years of Four-Legged Friends will be featured at the New York Library Association Book Exhibit in Saratoga Springs, NY, which will run November 2-5, 2010. This book is enrolled in Xlibris’ Bookstore Returnability Program, which gives booksellers the convenient option of returning excess stocks through Ingram Distribution.
