PhotoTour Excursions will award an Apple iPad to the winner of its first iLoveDC camera phone contest. Contestants enter their best photos taken around Washington, D.C., using their cell phones.

Enter your best camera phone photos taken around Washington, D.C., for a chance to compete for the first-place iPad. Other prizes include guided photo tour excursions from PhotoTour Excursions.  

“Today’s camera phones are capable of taking incredible photographs,” says Lynford Morton, president and lead instructor of PhotoTour Excursions. “On our photo tours, we teach that you don’t need an expensive camera to take great pictures. Here’s a really fun way to show it.” 

Public voting determines the winner, which will be announced on Nov. 15 at http://www.phototourdc.com. Contestants can enter as many photos as they wish and promote their own photographs within their social networks.

To assist contestants, PhotoTour Excursions’ FocalPoint DC blog will present a variety of helpful tips for taking great photographs in coming weeks and will include advice on the fundamental aspects of lighting, photo composition, artistic presentation, and more. 

“This city has so many great locations and photo opportunities,” says Morton. “I see new photo ideas on practically every photo tour. I’m looking forward to some amazing entries that showcase the best of Washington, DC.”
