Austin, TX (PRWEB) October 7, 2010
For Immediate Release. Relic Wear LLC has signed a two year licensing agreement to make game used memorabilia products that incorporate the images and trademarks of baseball legend Lou Gehrig. The company will be announcing new products later this month that focus on the greatest hitters to ever play the game.
Gehrig, who played football at Columbia University before playing for the New York Yankees from 1923 to 1939, was forced to retire due to the illness that now bears his name. He personified professionalism and consistency in his 17 year career, playing in 2130 consecutive games while delivering incredible statistics : 493 homeruns with a lifetime batting average of .340. He still holds the record for most grand slams at 23, and was unanimously elected to the Hall of Fame in 1939.
“We are proud to have Lou Gehrig headline of our upcoming products focused on baseball legends. Gehrig was a powerful man who hit line-drive home runs, and was one of only 4 players in history to retire in the all-around complete hitter class with at least a .330 average, 400 homeruns, and 1200 RBIs. We have some big plans for exciting products that fans of the game and collectors alike will be very pleased with.” said Relic Wear founder Alex Malone.
