The Institute for Financial Literacy is pleased to announce the winners of the 2010 Excellence In Financial Literacy Education ("EIFLE") Book Awards, which will be presented on Wednesday, October 6, 2010 at 6:00pm at the Hyatt Regency in Boston.
The EIFLE awards were created to acknowledge innovation and quality of financial literacy education efforts and the commitment of those that offer them. Awards will be given to the following books and curricula:
- Retail Book of the Year, Adult Investing & Retirement Planning: The AARP Retirement Survival Guide: How to Make Smart Financial Decisions in Good Times and Bad by Julie Jason.
- Curriculum of the Year, K-12 General: Building Your Future by Eileen Streu, The Actuarial Foundation.
- Curriculum of the Year, K-12 Money Management: Banzai by Morgan Vadagriff, Kendagriff, LLC, Provo, UT.
- Curriculum of the Year, K-12 Risk Management: NextGen3 by Julie Lattanzi, Life Foundation.
- Curriculum of the Year, Post Secondary/ Adult, Credit: Identity Theft: What You Need to Know by Thrivent Financial for Lutherans.
- Curriculum of the Year, Post Secondary/ Adult General: Money Talk: A Financial Guide for Women, by Patricia Q. Brennan and Barbara M. O' Neill, Rutgers University.
- Instructional Game of the Year, K-12 Money Management -Table Top: Kids Count: The Fun Game of Dollars and Sense! by Brittany Greene, Networks Financial Institute, Indiana State University.
Awards will also be presented in the categories of For Profit Organization of the Year, Non Profit Organization of the Year, and Educator of the Year. Winners in those categories will be announced separately.
