Strauss Radio Strategies, Inc. (SRS), the nation’s leading provider of strategic radio media relations services, announced today that it is the recipient of a 2010 Public Relations Society of America National Capital Chapter (PRSA-NCC) Thoth Award in the External Audio Program category.
The 42nd Annual Thoth Awards celebrates the talent and innovation of Washington, DC area public relations professionals. During the Egyptian-themed awards ceremony, held at the Willard Intercontinental Hotel in downtown Washington, DC, 25 Thoth Awards and 20 Certificates of Excellence were presented to regional firms. The SRS staff attended the event and accepted the Thoth in the External Audio Program category.
A Thoth Award was presented to SRS for the Timberland PRO On-Air Promotion project, which was judged to be representative of the best work in the public relations industry. For this project, SRS, along with Porter Novelli’s New York office, designed and executed a campaign in twelve targeted markets that generated a broad mix of product give-aways, on-air testimonials, product mentions and contests to build awareness of the Timberland PRO Endurance boot among the target audience. The result was a promotional campaign that secured 877 on air mentions totaling more than seven on-air hours and reaching an audience of more than 4.2 million listeners.
