Partnering to Align Standards, Content, and Curriculum for the K-12 Educational Market

EdGate Correlation Services, LLC, is pleased to announce that it has been selected by the Verizon Foundation, the philanthropic arm of Verizon, to align resources on Verizon Thinkfinity to state and national academic standards.

Verizon Thinkfinity (http://www.thinkfinity.org) is the signature education program of the Verizon Foundation. It is a comprehensive educational website that contains thousands of free educational resources to make learning fun and improve educational achievement. Parent-friendly resources, in-class activities and homework help can be found quickly and searched by grade level, keyword or subject. All content on Thinkfinity is created or approved by 11 of the nation’s leading education organizations, such as the National Council of Teachers of English, the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics and the American Association for the Advancement of Science. In addition to providing free educational resources, Thinkfinity also offers a comprehensive professional development program that allows teachers to sign up for free online training.

As a leader in standards alignment of K-12 educational content, EdGate Correlation Services (http://correlation.edgate.com/) provides more than 150 publishers and content providers with accurate and fully updated correlations to state, national and international standards. Founded in Gig Harbor, WA in 1997, EdGate also provides content-to-content mapping and licensing options for custom taxonomies and its comprehensive standards repository, which contains nearly 2 million fully updated standards from across the country and around the world.

“Using technology to provide teachers with engaging resources to improve student achievement is a key priority of Verizon,” said Patrick Gaston, president of the Verizon Foundation. “We are proud to partner with EdGate to ensure all of our Thinkfinity resources are aligned to state and national standards.”

Sandra Schugren, General Manager of EdGate Correlation Services said, “We are excited for this new opportunity to work with Verizon Thinkfinity. Both EdGate and Verizon understand the high demands placed on teachers to meet state curriculum goals. By partnering with the Verizon Foundation, teachers will save valuable time in locating resources and be able to easily demonstrate their classroom curriculum aligns to state academic standards and assessments. EdGate is pleased to provide the comprehensive standards alignment services to help make that happen.”
