Dublin, CA (Vocus) October 5, 2010
Dublin Falcons Football and Cheer, a division of the highly competitive Delta Youth Football League (DYFL), is a nonprofit football and cheer traveling squad. In honor of those who have been affected by breast cancer, from family member, friends and the survivors themselves, the Dublin Falcons dedicate its Oct. 9, 2010 games to Breast Cancer Awareness, announced Lisa Gutierrez, Vice President, Dublin Falcons. The games will be played at Castro Valley High, 19400 Santa Maria Avenue, Castro Valley, CA.
All fans attending the games will be presented with a “Breast Cancer Awareness Pink Ribbon” to wear proudly to join the cause to find a cure. In addition, at half time for each game, donations can be made to find a cure for breast cancer that will be forwarded to the “Susan G. Komen – For the Cure” foundation. Donations of $5.00 or more will receive a coupon for two free Dublin Falcons special carne asada tacos from the Falcons concession stand.
“Breast cancer is the second leading cancer for women, next to skin cancer, in the United States. Breast cancer is the leading cause of death for women between 20 to 59 years. Globally, a woman dies of breast cancer every 69 seconds. Even men can get breast cancer.” said Lisa Gutierrez, Vice President.
“This is why the Dublin Falcons are dedicating Oct. 9, 2010 games as ‘Breast Cancer Awareness’ Day. We all know someone with breast cancer or who has died from this disease. It is our privilege to honor all survivors – Pink Warriors – and those who have passed.”
