Each October, women around the globe unite for a great cause, to fight Breast Cancer and support the efforts of Susan G. Komen for the Cure®. The Irish Dairy Board, makers of Kerrygold Butter and cheeses, has joined the fight with a $55,000 donation in 2010 to Susan G. Komen for the Cure and with the launch of a campaign to encourage others to help raise awareness.

“This year, we’re asking our fans to rally behind the cause by helping Susan G. Komen for the Cure,” explained Roisin Hennerty, vice president, Kerrygold USA. “We’ve turned the packaging of our popular Dubliner cheese pink and created kerrygoldandpink.com as a place where you can take action. Join us in this important cause.”

The website, kerrygoldandpink.com, enables visitors to make a donation to Susan G. Komen for the Cure and shares easy ideas for how anyone can help raise funds to find the cures. There is also a place on the site to enter a drawing for a trip for four to Ireland, as a celebration of life.

On city streets, Kerrygold’s familiar yellow VW Bugs will be transformed into pink breast cancer awareness cars for the month of October. The cars will be seen in Boston, Chicago, Denver, Fort Lauderdale, Los Angeles, Philadelphia, Tampa and Washington, D.C.

With a little luck of the Irish, more awareness and a lot of women power, Kerrygold is confident researchers will continue to make big advances in the search for the cures.

Thanks for helping…us girls need to look out for one another, you know?
