Doug Dome Named President and Chief Creative Officer of Gigunda Group, Inc.

Gigunda Group, a NH-based experiential marketing firm, has named Doug Dome, a Chicago Ad/PR veteran, to be President and Chief Creative Officer. Gigunda is responsible for Pop-Tarts World, which opened with huge buzz in Times Square in August.

Gigunda Group, Inc. today named Doug Dome its president and chief creative officer. Dome will be responsible for overall creative management and senior account management on various accounts, as well as marketing and new business development for the agency. Named PROMO Magazine’s “Creative Agency of the Year” in 2008, Gigunda is an innovative experiential marketing agency based in Manchester, NH. Dome will be based in Gigunda’s Chicago office.

Previously, Dome served as president & CEO of Dome Consulting, a management and marketing communications consultancy he started in 2007. Before Dome Consulting, Dome served in several senior level agency management and creative positions, including chief creative officer and managing principal of Carmichael Lynch Spong, U.S. creative director of Hill & Knowlton, and president of Dome HK. Dome HK was created in 2004 when WPP’s Hill & Knowlton acquired Dome Communications, the agency Dome founded in 1997.

Throughout his career, Dome has received numerous creative awards and accolades. The American Business Awards named him its Stevie Award winner for “Most Creative Person.” PR News named him its “PR Agency Professional of the Year” and “PR Innovator of the Year.”    Under Doug’s leadership, The Holmes Report named Dome Communications the “Best Public Relations Firm to Work for in America” and “Creative Agency of the Year.” PR Week also named Dome Communications a finalist for “Mid-Sized Agency of the Year.” While at Dome HK and Dome Communications, Dome led his team in winning more than 200 industry awards.

Prior to Dome Communications, Dome served as managing director of public relations and events for Foote, Cone & Belding Chicago. Before FCB, Dome served as manager of public relations for the Central Division of MCI Telecommunications Corporation. He also served as the opening director of public relations and promotions for the Fairmont Hotel-Chicago. Dome started his career in communications with Marshall Field’s Department Store, where he rose to the position of corporate manager of special events.

Dome earned a Master of Management degree in Marketing and International Business from the J.L. Kellogg Graduate School of Management, Northwestern University, and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Administration and History from Alma College, Alma, Michigan. He currently also teaches Integrated Marketing Communications at the University of Chicago Graham School, and is a member of the Economic Club of Chicago.
