Ms Wheelchair North Carolina Alex McArthur was crowned Miss Wheelchair America in Grand Rapids Michigan on August 15, 2010. Passing on the crown was Miss Wheelchair America Erika Bogan, also of North Carolina. First Runner Up and People’s Choice Award winner was 2010 Ms Wheelchair California Jennifer Kumiyama.

As part of the prize package, the winner will benefit from the use of a Physical Movement Therapy Device by Flexiciser ™ Inc., for the duration of her reign.

"We’re thrilled to be a sponsor of this great event that showcases the achievements of these incredible women,” says Bryan S.J. Mallindine, the President and CEO of Flexiciser ™ Inc., who was on hand throughout the event as well as at the Awards Ceremony.

“Flexiciser’s Physical Movement Therapy ™ Devices are the only technology that offers patients a natural walking/running stride, moving arms and legs simultaneously with no weight-bearing impact on joints even for complete quadriplegics! Veterans and other clients who are wheelchair users have found a great deal of relief from spasticity, limited range of motion and poor blood circulation. Movement Therapy ™ has been scientifically proved to increase the overall health of individuals as well as preventing the potential deterioration of life quality due to physical limitations,” says Bryan.

“We’re looking forward to an ongoing relationship with this wonderful organization,” Mallindine adds.

About Ms Wheelchair America
The mission of Ms. Wheelchair America is to provide an opportunity of achievement for women who happen to be wheelchair users to successfully educate and advocate for the more than 52 million Americans living with disabilities. Unlike traditional beauty pageants, Ms. Wheelchair America is not a contest to select the most attractive individual. It is instead a competition based on advocacy, achievement, communication and presentation to select the most accomplished and articulate spokeswoman for persons with disabilities. The selected representative must be able to communicate both the needs and the accomplishments of her constituency to the general public, the business community and the legislature.
