RestoringTruthiness.org is organizing grassroots caravans to trek to Jon Stewart’s Rally to Restore Sanity. The main caravan will embark from San Diego, CA on Oct. 22 and reach Washington, D.C. on Oct. 29 in time for the Jon Stewart Rally to Restore Sanity and Stephen Colbert March to Keep Fear Alive on Oct. 30, 2010. In every city that the main caravan stops along the way, a film crew will be interviewing a variety of Americans from all different political backgrounds and posting to their website some of the most outrageous, goofy, funny and just plain awesome takes they capture on film. The ultimate goal of this project is to produce a feature-length documentary of the main caravan trip cross country to the Rally and the March.

Currently, the cities in which they are stopping include: Phoenix, AZ; Albuquerque, NM; Amarillo, TX; Oklahoma City, OK; Little Rock, AR; Knoxville, TN; Richmond, VA; and Washington, D.C. The main caravan intends to gather more and more members in each of these cities continually growing as they finally reach Washington, D.C. With a rented RV and a train of cars following, the main caravan will be camping out in RV parks and/or RV acceptable areas. RestoringTruthiness.org will be shooting footage of the main caravan itself as well and posting the footage on the website as they travel cross country.

Potential caravanners can sign up to join the main caravan by visiting The Rally to Restore Sanity Caravan. And just in case other fans heading to Jon Stewart’s Rally don't want to meet up with the main caravan, RestoringTruthiness.org is making it possible for them to organize their own caravans! So Chicagoans can hook up together! Seattleites can make like Louis and Clark and travel cross-country together! New Orleaners can go Easy Rider and motor on up to D.C. as a group!

In September 2010, Jon Stewart of The Daily Show and Stephen Colbert of The Colbert Report answered the call from the Colbert Nation. The Nation was reasonably requesting their very own Stephen Colbert Rally which they called Restoring Truthiness Rally and was going to be held at the Lincoln Memorial in Washington, D.C. The movement was started by an article on Reddit and promoted heavily by the folks behind ColbertRally.com. Nevertheless, Stewart and Colbert took their time in making their announcements - each announcing that they would be making an announcement about an important announcement very soon.

When they did, they surprised everyone by naming their events Rally to Restore Sanity and March to Keep Fear Alive. Hence, RestoringTruthiness.org is now organizing a Rally to Restore Sanity Caravan Across America. It’s all good! At least they didn’t change the city so the caravan is still heading to the same place.

So just a recap: Restoring Truthiness Organization is organizing a Rally to Restore Sanity Caravan Across America that leaves San Diego on Oct. 22 and reaches Washington, D.C. on Oct. 29 in time for the Rally to Restore Sanity and March to Keep Fear Alive on Oct. 30. Plus, they will be donating a large portion of their proceeds to The Fisher House, a wonderful charity that helps wounded Veterans and their families.

Fans of The Daily Show and the Colbert Report should sign up for RestoringTruthiness.org's Jon Stewart & Stephen Colbert Rally To Restore Sanity Facebook Fan Page. Fans that are interested in the caravan should also join RestoringTruthiness.org's Rally to Restore Sanity Caravan Across America Facebook Fan Page*.
