HTG Investment Advisors Inc., an independent investment advisory firm, is pleased to announce that Robin Sherwood, principal and chief compliance officer of HTG, has been accepted for membership in the National Association of Personal Financial Advisors (NAPFA), the nation’s leading organization for fee-only financial planners.

NAPFA membership is open exclusively to “fee-only” advisors – i.e., financial advisors who are compensated directly by their clients. Fee-only advisors receive no commissions or bonuses for recommending specific products. This distinction protects client interests by ensuring that no monetary incentives interfere with the advisor’s fiduciary responsibility. Consistent with the fee-only philosophy, all NAPFA members sign the group’s “Fiduciary Oath” committing to place clients’ interests first.

Additionally, NAPFA membership candidates are rigorously screened through a peer review of a sample financial plan, and, if accepted, must commit to ongoing education requirements.

“I’m honored to be part of an organization that is so committed to client service, excellence in financial planning, and continuous learning,” said Robin Sherwood. “NAPFA’s mission mirrors the clients-first philosophy and high standards that guide our business at HTG.”

“The NAPFA-Registered Financial Advisor designation denotes a real accomplishment,” said NAPFA chair William Baldwin. “We recently surpassed 2,000 members, and are always pleased when we can strengthen our ranks with well-trained, highly committed financial advisors. We welcome Robin to NAPFA.”

“NAPFA’s growth reflects the increasingly important role that qualified, objective, fee-only financial advisors can play in building financial security for individuals and families,” said Tom Gnuse, CEO and chief investment officer of HTG Investment Advisors. “We’re delighted that Robin has earned the NAPFA-Registered Financial Advisor designation, and that she has joined an organization that advances the ethical principles and educational standards that we support for our industry.”
