...truly an unprecedented opportunity for locals who want to learn more about the film industry and for the region's filmmaking talents who want to expand their own networking reach.
Albuquerque, NM (PRWEB) October 8, 2010
New Mexico Women In Film (NMWIF) will host “Where Did They Film That?” – An Intimate Afternoon With the Film Industry’s Top Location Professionals on Sunday, October 17, in Albuquerque. The event promises to give the general public and industry pros, alike, an inside look into what it takes to be a Location Pro: how they get the job done, how they are hired, what opportunities are available in the film industry, and much more.
The event features a prestigious panel of Location experts who have worked on Academy and Emmy award-winning films and television dramas and many other notable projects such as, “No Country For Old Men,” “The Book of Eli,” “Crazy Heart,” “Terminator Salvation,” “In Plain Sight,” and “Breaking Bad.” A question & answer session will follow the panel presentation.
NMWIF Board Director and recognized acting talent Lora Cunningham explains, “As New Mexico continues to draw the film industry’s top pros, our aim is to provide intimate access to the specialists who have worked on major feature films and network television projects. This is truly an unprecedented opportunity for locals who want to learn more about the film industry and for the region’s filmmaking talents who want to expand their own networking reach.”
The event will be held at Albuquerque Studios at 5650 University Boulevard, SE, giving the public a rare look into the facility where many recent feature films and television programs have actually been filmed.
Admission for Non-members of NMWIF is $15; however, members of NMWIF will be admitted for free. Doors open to the public at 4:00 for a light mixer with the panel experts and key members of the film industry. The Panel Presentation will begin promptly at 4:45pm.
A closed-door “meet and greet” for press with credentials will be held prior to the event at 3:30pm on the Albuquerque Studios lot with advance RSVP to 1680PR. A hi-speed Internet hub will be available for bloggers with credentials to interview key personalities in real-time, as well.
