Telling of ghost stories, viewing of horror films, visiting a haunted house or other dark attraction are typical Halloween traditions. On Halloween, the scares are supposed to be imaginary. But, all too often, the make-believe fear becomes genuine anguish when children and teens are injured, or even killed, when they're hit by cars or injured in other types of accidents.
Barbara Kantor went from a career in fashion design to designing a fashionable product that saves lives. The most popular product of its kind is also the most highly reflective, colorful, and fun product to keep everyone safe from oncoming cars this Halloween: Vedante™ POP BANDS™.
Making sure trick or treaters are more visible to drivers is easy by adding POP BANDS™ to their costume, arm, or leg. With a unique design and no sticky adhesive to mess with, Vedante™ Super Reflective POP BANDS™ give you 360 degrees of visibility in low light conditions and can be worn on arms, ankles, wrists, bike handles, baby carriages, back packs ... and more. Just pop them on … and off to trick-or-treat you go!
POP BANDS™ and other Vedante™ reflective products are not "glow in the dark" products. Distinctively designed to deliver powerful visibility, Vedante™ products are like wearing millions of tiny crystal beads that reflect light back to the source in which that light is coming from. Vedante™ POPBANDS™ create visibility up to 1500 feet in the face of headlights. The products are distributed in retail shops ( http://vedante.com/shop.html ) and are the #1 best selling reflective product for people and their pets on Amazon ( http://www.amazon.com/s?ie=UTF8&x=15&ref_=nb_ss_k_0_7&y=16&field-keywords=vedante%20reflective&url=search-alias%3Daps&sprefix=vedante).
Research shows that children are four times more likely to be hit by a car on Halloween than on any other night of the year. Typically falling at the end of Daylight Saving Time also means that most trick-or-treating will take place when it's dark, making it harder for drivers to spot excited, inattentive kids who may dart out into the road and who may be wearing masks making it harder for them to spot oncoming cars as well.
Also backed by studies is the fact that on Halloween, many trick or treaters don't pay attention to the pedestrian safety rules they may have learned at school or at home. Instead, they're thinking about seeing their friends, and about the treats they received at the last house, and the goodies they'll get at the next door they haunt.
"It's just a really dangerous night because there are so many pedestrians walking through neighborhoods and on the road. A lot of times they're out without their parents, not paying attention, and wearing things that impair their ability to see all that may be going on around them," says Kantor. "Vedante POPBANDS help to alleviate this problem by making kids stand out at night with reflective wear that is fun. They can be added to virtually any costume with our variety of colors, and they're whimsically fashionable."
