This was a natural expansion for us
Rockville, MD (Vocus) October 8, 2010
Effective October 1, 2010, RMA Worldwide Chauffeured Transportation took ownership of Eastern Shore Limousine Service. Eastern Shore, a family owned business, was started in 1990. The owner who cultivated his business said he wanted to sell to a company that would keep his service alive and thriving. After speaking with several suitors, the choice was made to speak with RMA Worldwide Chauffeured Transportation. RMA is already the largest service of its kind in the region.
Eastern Shore Limousine Service is a well respected company serving Maryland’s eastern shore and was headquartered in Easton, MD. The Chesapeake Bay separates Maryland but is joined by a seven mile bridge span called the Bay Bridge. That is the narrowest point of the 125 mile long Chesapeake Bay and the bridge carries all the vacationers heading to the beach.
The acquisition of Eastern Shore gives us additional coverage into one of the wealthiest counties in the country. Talbot County, MD is touched by the tributaries of the Chesapeake Bay and there are some gorgeous water communities. The Miles, Tred Avon, and Chester rivers are just a few of the splendid rivers that touch the county.
Just minutes over the bridge from Annapolis, there is a whole new arena of businesses to pursue and executives from Baltimore and Washington with a need to get to and from the airports. There are 5 star hotels, golf resorts, bed and breakfasts, and several prestigious conference centers.
“This was a natural expansion for us”, said Robert Alexander, President and CEO of RMA. The transition has been seamless to this point. “We hope to wow the new customers with our world class service” he went on to say. “The best part of this deal for us is we can improve on the services they delivered without the overhead”. RMA has a satellite hub they operate out of BWI Airport which puts them very close to Eastern Shore’s service area.
“Once we have made this smooth transition, I can’t wait to get over there and begin selling” said David Nock, Vice President of Sales. “It is such an affluent area, you should see some of the homes on the water”.
RMA operates over one hundred vehicles local to the Washington-Baltimore area and provides service worldwide. This purchase helps RMA to generate more sales and thus expand even farther.
