Center for Hospitality Research Study at Cornell University Finds More Value in Face-to-Face Meetings Over Virtual Meetings

The Center for Hospitality Research, affiliated with the Cornell University School of Hotel Administration, has recently announced the findings of a study that determined face-to-face meetings are more advantageous for business outcomes than using virtual meeting technology in most cases.

Cornell University School of Hotel Administration's Center for Hospitality Research recently conducted a study that examined the future of business meetings, conferences, and other networking events. The study found that face-to-face meetings, and not the newest virtual meeting technologies, are the most advantageous for most business outcomes. It was concluded that face-to-face meetings were better able to 1) capture participant attention, 2) inspire a positive emotional climate and catalyze collaboration, and 3) build human networks and relationships. The Center for Hospitality Research findings will help executives to better determine how they should proceed with the planning of large group meetings and events.
