College students today stay connected socially through their mobile devices. We developed JICS Mobile initially for students with a focus on keeping them connected with their academic life
Boston, MA (Vocus) October 12, 2010
Jenzabar, Inc., a leading provider of software, services and strategies for higher education, announced today the release of a mobile application for Jenzabar’s Internet Campus Solution (JICS) portal and the Jenzabar e-Racer learning management system. The new application, called JICS Mobile, will be demonstrated at EDUCAUSE 2010, in Anaheim, California, October 12 through 15.
The release of JICS Mobile was developed with a completely new interface designed specifically for mobile devices such as the Apple® iPhone® mobile device, iPod touch® mobile device, mobile devices using the Google AndroidTM operating system, and other popular mobile devices. With JICS Mobile, students can access the Internet portal and the e-Racer learning management system directly through their preferred mobile environment. Jenzabar’s mobile applications will be demonstrated at EDUCAUSE during the presentation “Mobility in the Student Information System: An Essential Connection with Constituents” on Wednesday, October 13 at 11:30 a.m.
“College students today stay connected socially through their mobile devices. We developed JICS Mobile initially for students with a focus on keeping them connected with their academic life,” said Robert A. Maginn, Jr., Jenzabar Chairman and Chief Executive Officer. “By acknowledging and reacting to the popularity of mobile applications, we can offer a convenient and simple way for students to engage with the institution.”
Information found in Jenzabar’s Internet Campus Solution, including events, announcements, and campus directory; and within the e-Racer learning management system, including course assignments, class schedules and grades, will be available directly through mobile devices. Jenzabar’s Internet Campus Solution is an Internet portal that connects candidates, students, alumni, faculty, and staff to an institution’s database at any time from any Internet browser, giving constituents 24x7 access to role-specific content, from administrative records and reports to online exams and chat rooms. E-Racer is a learning management system developed to help faculty, students, and administrators stay up to speed with the demands of a dynamic educational environment.
Jenzabar representatives will be delivering product demonstrations and exhibiting the entire range of the company's products and services at the technology-focused higher education event, EDUCAUSE 2010. Attendees are welcome to visit Jenzabar at Booth 1510 to discuss the mobile device applications or other company information.
