By dividing the book into 100, 200, 300, 400, and 500 calorie recipes, we've enabled the reader to combine two or more dishes to create meals of any calorie level.
Miami, FL (PRWEB) October 13, 2010
A new cookbook by South Florida weight-loss expert and author Sanford Siegal, D.O., M.D., enables those who follow virtually any calorie-controlled weight-loss or weight-maintenance diet to combine 120 recipes into a nearly unlimited number of meals. Entitled The Cookie Doctor Cookbook: Countless Combinations of Delicious Meals for Any Calorie-Controlled Lifestyle (2011, Egg & Dart, ISBN 978-0-9841887-6-5), the doctor's latest book will be available at Amazon.com next week and at bookstores everywhere in January.
"In my fifty years of treating obesity, the number one question I've been asked, whether by my patients or people who've approached me in public, is 'What should I eat to achieve or maintain a certain weight?'" said Dr. Siegal. "This cookbook answers the question far better than I can in a brief conversation."
Dr. Siegal is a practicing physician whose Miami-based medical practice, Siegal Medical Group, has treated more than 500,000 overweight patients. He has achieved notoriety over the past 35 years for books on such topics as high fiber diets, controlling hunger without drugs, hypothyroidism, and the popular Dr. Siegal's Cookie Diet weight-loss system.
"During the past few years, much of my time has been devoted to media interviews about Dr. Siegal's Cookie Diet, so having something else to talk about is a welcome change of pace," noted Dr. Siegal. "While this cookbook will be useful to someone who happens to follow my diet, it's intended for everyone who wishes to reach or maintain a healthful weight by controlling their caloric intake."
According to Dr. Siegal, his new book was inspired by the thousands of inquiries he's received over the years from people who wanted advice on what meals are best for one who is attempting to lose or maintain weight. He says that most people recognize that controlling calories is essential for success but they find it difficult to know how many calories they're really getting.
"By dividing the book into 100, 200, 300, 400, and 500 calorie recipes, we've enabled the reader to combine two or more dishes to create meals of any calorie level," added Dr. Siegal. "What's more, every recipe specifies the amount of protein, fat, and carbohydrate, and includes a color photograph of the prepared dish."
