"Devin's sound has classic rock 'n roll stamped all over it. And although seemingly a specialist in hugely catchy choruses upon first glance, it's his lyrical intricacies that really set him apart from the crowd."

Rock singer-songwriter Devin Therriault (pronounced "theory-alt") and his band play their first appearance at the CMJ Music Marathon 2010 headlining at Pete's Candy Store on Tuesday, October 19, 2010 at 11 PM in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. The band also plays at the Neon Gold/Chess Club Records CMJ Showcase at Public Assembly on Thursday, October 21, 2010 at 8:30 PM in Williamsburg, Brooklyn, the epicenter of new rock music, appearing with The Postelles.

Music Week Magazine (UK) reported on September 4, 2010 "DEVIN THERRIAULT "You're Mine" (Unsigned) This Brooklyn artist is currently stirring A&R interest from the UK."

Representatives from several major and independent UK record labels plan to be in attendance at the CMJ performances of this native New Yorker. US labels have also taken notice, as well as US and UK music publishers. Therriault's representatives have already fielded offers.

Only last year, Therriault started creating songs by recording in his home studio on his computer using pro-tools, a music software program. He played all instruments and sang all vocals on the recordings. Drawing upon '60s girl groups, Iggy Pop and other influences, Therriault produced his own unique style. These original home "demo" recordings attracted multiple record labels.

In late 2009, Devin Therriault formed the band Devin and the Little Angels to stage these songs. The Little Angels made an immediate impact at Shea Stadium, an underground rock "all ages" performance space in Brooklyn. A charismatic performer with a high-energy live show, Therriault quickly made a home at known Manhattan clubs like The Studio at Webster Hall, Lit Lounge and The Mercury Lounge.

Devin and the Little Angels also created a buzz on the college circuit playing successful shows at Vassar College, Bard and participating in the Culture Shock Festival at SUNY Purchase College, playing with established acts like Bayside, Surfer Blood and The Books.

The historic venue Webster Hall chose DEVIN THERRIAULT to premiere the LIVE AT WEBSTER HALL series of singles recorded live at The Studio at Webster Hall. Therriault's first live CD single of "You're Mine" and "Thing On My Mind" will release just before the CMJ Music Marathon.

After hearing Therriault's recording of the song "I Don't Think I", Lizzy Plapinger of Neon Gold Records tweeted about the "vintage classic rock sound - so good!" She sent the MP3 to influential UK blog Illegal Tender. Illegal Tender wrote: "Devin's sound has classic rock 'n roll stamped all over it. And although seemingly a specialist in hugely catchy choruses upon first glance, it's his lyrical intricacies that really set him apart from the crowd. His energetic and sexually charged live show has garnered interest." International blogs picked up the song equally impressed.

Plapinger's partner at Neon Gold, Derek Davies, who originally recommended Vampire Weekend to UK lawyer Nicky Stein and XL Recordings, sent the song to Syd Butler, owner of Frenchkiss Records in New York. Butler immediately contacted Therriault and saw his live show. Frenchkiss continues to meet with Therriault's representatives.

Nicky Stein (Vampire Weekend) and US attorney Elliot Groffman (Jay-Z, Pearl Jam, Dave Matthews) agreed to share legal representation.

The new band DEVIN THERRIAULT debuts at the CMJ Music Marathon 2010. Last week, Therriault broke into the Top 20 in Deli Magazine's New York Indie Rock popularity list. DEVIN THERRIAULT represents the new wave of cutting-edge underground New York rock emerging this year.

Traditionally, the CMJ Music Marathon gives news organizations and music journalists early access to breaking acts like DEVIN THERRIAULT positioned to become the important music news of 2011.

Devin Therriault and his band are available for interviews and in-studio performances.
