Emplicity HR Provides Support to Entrepreneurial Companies

“Providing instant access to critical benefits and payroll data without the loss of the client relationship has been key to our growth strategy,” says Tanon.

Emplicity HR is helping its business customers grow while experiencing growing pains itself. The Orange County, CA-based employer services firm which provides a turn-key approach to employee recruitment, compliance, payroll and benefit administration, has seen an influx of business despite the recessionary trends of late. “As mid-sized firms began to downsize, many entrepreneurial companies have turned to us to outsource the entire human resources function,” says founder and Chief Simplicity Officer, Vic Tanon. With the emergence of companies outsourcing business processes to India and the Phillipines, most small to mid-sized are still reluctant to outsource their critical employee services like payroll, employee benefits, recruitment and management support. In 2010, Tanon’s firm grew its subscriber base by 60% and has earned accolades as one of INC. Magazine’s Fastest Growing Private Companies for its third year in a row.

Growth has definitely come with a price, though. Transforming its back-office procedures to accommodate larger volumes of transactions like online employee enrollment and benefit administration has staff running in circles. “Maintaining quality while increasing efficiencies on processing data requires a balance between the old ways to new technologies,” Tanon says of Emplicity’s latest web-based services. During the transition, management employed web-based training via WebEx to reach out to its customers to bridge the gap between online and face-to-face contact. “Many of our employees have voiced a concern with losing touch of the client relationship as we evolve into more web-based applications,” says the firms Vice President of HR, Lisa Pinkard, whose most vital factor is the boutique firm’s 98% client approval rating.

As a result of the grass-roots effort to promote the human resources outsourcing firm’s online capabilities, its clients adoption rate tripled to 72%. Such gains in efficiency have allowed the firm to more than double its capacity without adding a single employee. “Providing instant access to critical benefits and payroll data without the loss of the client relationship has been key to our growth strategy,” says Tanon.
