Raising a glass to Oktoberfest, Red Marlin is offering an October "Taste of Red Marlin" cooking seminar spotlighting the European-style beers crafted by Lightning Brewery. On October 26, beginning at 6 p.m., guests will learn how to incorporate some of the award-winning brews into their everyday cooking with the help of the Mission Bay restaurant's Chef de Cuisine Danny Bannister, who has honed his skills in some of San Diego's most prestigious kitchens. The cooking demonstration will also feature paired beers by the Poway-based brewery.
Guests will be seated at the Chef's Table, located in the heart of the restaurant, to take full advantage of the San Diego seafood restaurant's prime location offering panoramic views of Mission Bay and the Pacific Ocean. Chef Bannister will provide an up-close demonstration where participants will learn how to prepare and enjoy:
- Thunderweizen Steamed Clams with cabbage, bratwurst and grain mustard, paired with Lightning Brewery Thunderweizen;
- Electrostatic Ale Brined Pork Tenderloin with butternut squash puree, escarole and celery root chips, paired with Lightning Brewery Electrostatic Ale;
- Black Lightning Porter Braised Short Rib with vanilla mashed potatoes, rainbow carrots and coco jus, paired with Lightning Brewery Black Lightning Porter; and,
- Spiced Apple Crisp paired with Lightning Brewery Old Tempest Ale.
