Global Summit to take pricing knowledge to higher corporate levels enabling more powerful bottom-line impact of pricing strategies

"Pricing is not just another function of sales, but rather a profit critical business operation," says Kevin Mitchell, President of the Professional Pricing Society.

The Professional Pricing Society (PPS), the world's only professional society dedicated to pricing education and training, has announced the Inaugural Global Pricing for Executives Summit in Brussels to be held on Tuesday, November 16th, 2010 at the Sheraton Brussels Hotel. This Summit is part of the PPS 6th Annual Conference on European & Global Pricing.

Corporate executives with global responsibilities can greatly benefit by leveraging pricing strategies and tactics to get results. However, many executives are not fully aware of the nature of the pricing process or of the necessary infrastructure needed to implement a successful pricing foundation within their corporation and across all departments (i.e. sales, marketing).

This Summit, designed for C-Level executives and above, explains the science of pricing and its internal application as well as the overall effect of pricing strategies on sales, profit and bottom-line growth.

"Pricing is not just another function of sales, but rather a profit critical business operation," says Kevin Mitchell, President of the Professional Pricing Society. "As the profession of pricing evolves on a global scale, it becomes a more complex and multi-faceted task for corporations. Top executives who can fully understand the pricing process will bring unparalleled results and improvements to their businesses, and see measurable impact on their sales effectiveness and profitability."

The Summit features speakers from around the world who are proven leaders and innovators in the field of pricing. Presenters include:

  • Dr. Manu Carricano - Professor EADA Business School
  • Wolfgang Kruger - Merck, Vice President, Performance & Life Science Chemicals-Divisional Services
  • Mike Trotman - CFO, TM Lewin
  • Kellie Ecker, CPP - VP, Head of Corporate Pricing, Institut Straumann AG
  • Mark Messow - Vice President of Material Cost Solutions & Managing Director, Celestica AG

“The unprecedented economic challenges presented over the past few years have made it critical for global businesses to get back to mission critical operations and assess the effectiveness of their organizations,” Mitchell continues. “As the rebounding economy emerges in 2011 and beyond, corporations who have solid pricing strategies and processes in place will hold the upper hand and find the longevity and stability that global corporations need to weather this and future economic storms.”

The 6th Annual Conference on European & Global Pricing will also feature 12 breakout sessions in three tracks (Pricing Practitioners, Pricing Experts, Tools and Techniques), keynotes from some of today’s top pricing leaders, and four new, full-day pricing training workshops. Conference attendees also have the option of attending these workshops to earn credit towards their Certified Pricing Professional (CPP) designation. The CPP designation is the industry recognized standard for advanced pricing knowledge in the business community.

One of the event’s highlights will be a keynote address from Thomas Nagle, widely recognized as one of the world’s pre-eminent pricing authorities. A Senior Partner in the Monitor Group and a specialist in strategic pricing, Dr. Nagle’s book - The Strategy and Tactics of Pricing - has been translated into 9 languages and remains the top-selling book on pricing and the most widely-adopted text on pricing at business schools worldwide.
