Global Housing Foundation, a United Nations /Habitat-Partner, has selected San Francisco-based Art4CharityGallery to provide the art auction for their upcoming event at the Manhattan House, 200 East 66th Street, to be held on October 27th.
Art4CharityGallery, founded by Debra Reabock in 2009, unites art and the non-profit world through fund raising efforts. Most recently, the gallery staged a successful fund raiser for EARN, a San Francisco based non-profit that breaks the cycle of poverty by matching the savings of low-wage workers and helping them invest in assets that build wealth such as housing, creating a cycle of prosperity across generations.
The Global Housing Foundation, a New York based non-profit that breaks the cycle of poverty by providing a micro-mortgage program for the working poor that live in slums - transforming slum dwellers to proud homeowners. Funds raised from the upcoming art auction will help fund the micro-mortgage program.
“GHF is an organization with a mission that empowers people to create a safe, secure environment – their home. Owning a home is a significant achievement.Going from slum dweller to homeowner is an amazing accomplishment that transforms families and communities,” said Ms. Reabock.
