Insider Secrets of The Psychedelic Art Market
Baltimore, Md (PRWEB) October 15, 2010
Collectors are buzzing about a valuable collection of vintage 1960’s Psychedelic Rock Concert Posters that’s being auctioned off this month to benefit Breast Cancer Awareness.
“This auction features the famous 1967 'Vanessa', featuring Vanessa Redgrave, one of the most famous concert posters ever created,” stated Glen Trosch, of Psychedelic Art Exchange, the firm conducting the sale. “Just a few dozen copies are known to exist and this is one of the finest known. Our phones have been ringing off the hook ever since collectors heard we found one!” added Trosch.
“Every concert poster in this sale features the pristine image of a woman, so it’s fitting that a portion of the proceeds are being donated to Breast Cancer Awareness,” said Trosch. “It’s great to see a collection that holds so much importance to collectors will also be important to the world at large.”
1960’s Psychedelic Rock Concert Posters have become big business in recent years. Collectors focus on Original First Printings that were printed in tiny quantities over 40 years ago. Prices have risen sharply for the few copies that remain in Mint Condition.
“These beautiful works of art were originally created over 40 years ago to advertise rock concerts by superstars such as Jimi Hendrix, Janis Joplin, Eric Clapton and the Grateful Dead,” explained Trosch. “The bold colors, cosmic lettering and psychedelic imagery really resonate with the millions of collectors and music fans that grew up during this historic, defining era.”
“When you compare the rarity of these posters to coins, stamps and baseball cards that are issued in the millions, it’s easy to understand why these Limited Editions are enjoying such strong demand,” explained Trosch.
