Mexican Eatery Cyclone Anaya's Opens Fourth Location In Houston

Cyclone Anaya's continues their expansion in Houston with the opening of their fourth location in Houston in the bustling CITYCENTRE district. Cyclone Anaya's serves traditional but sophisticated recipes, family hospitality and legendary margaritas at four Houston locations and three locations in Dallas.

Cyclone Anaya’s World Class Mexican Kitchen, a Houston-born Texas legacy serving fresh, homemade food, has expanded into new territory, opening its fourth location today in West Houston’s hip CITYCENTRE District. Boasting a 40-year history, this family owned restaurant chain was founded by Jesus “Cyclone Anaya” Valencia when he retired from professional wrestling in 1966. Known for its upscale menu of “Fine Mex” offerings, dramatic artistic plate presentation and striking architecture, the business is now managed by two of Valencia’s five children, Vienna Molder and Rico Valencia.

Molder and Valencia’s vision for their family business’ future includes modernizing its menu and moving into key up-and-coming areas in Texas; an agenda evidenced by veteran Chef Jason Gould taking the reins as R&D Chef and Cyclone Anaya’s opening new locations in fast-growing, upwardly mobile areas like CITYCENTRE.

“We’re thrilled to be a part of the CITYCENTRE sensation,” says Valencia. “When we started looking at expansion into West Houston, it was an easy choice, given CITYCENTRE’s existing tenants and trajectory.” Indeed, the district enticed Molder and Valencia with its pedestrian-style traffic and varied and sophisticated clientele. It was the perfect fit for the duo, who chose the Memorial area for its vibrant neighborhood base.

Cyclone Anaya’s at CITYCENTRE boasts a beautiful open kitchen, a striking circular bar area, intricate patterned woodwork, and contemporary, handcrafted art, fashioned with recycled steel from noted Houston artist “Scrap Daddy.” With seating for approximately 200 inside, the West Houston location also features a spacious patio with views of CITYCENTRE’s striking central plaza and Town & Country Boulevard.

Multiple flat panel TV’s and a 60” TV line the bar area for sports and special events, and an elevated private dining table overlooking the main dining room is available for parties of 10 or fewer. One signature feature patrons of other locations will recognize are the inviting, expansive family and professional photos of Cyclone Anaya hung throughout.
