Lake Forest, CA (PRWEB) October 15, 2010
Internet-based television network iBN Sports announced today that they have secured the San Diego Chargers as a sponsor for their high school football broadcasts in Southern California for the 2010 season.
With no other NFL franchise in Southern California, the Chargers’ market reaches across San Diego, Orange, Riverside and Los Angeles Counties. High school football fans that watch the iBN Sports broadcasts every weekend throughout those locales are predominantly Chargers fans. The opportunity to market the franchise through the iBN Sports online platform provides the Chargers a very local and targeted approach to their fan base.
“This new relationship between the Chargers and iBN Sports is a perfect fit for us,” said Chargers Senior Vice President-Chief Marketing Officer Ken Derrett. “It allows us to connect with a distinct football audience throughout Southern California and remind these football fans that one of the best NFL teams in the country is right in their own backyard.”
“We are excited to have the Chargers on board this year,” say iBN Sports President Chuck Lee. “Our sports broadcasts are local but we reach a very wide and targeted demographic. It’s an ideal platform for a professional sports franchise to connect with its fan base whether that’s in San Diego or any other major market.”
iBN Sports currently broadcasts high school football across the country but started covering high school sports in Orange County in 2007. iBN is contracted with many of the California Interscholastic Federation (CIF) sections that govern high school sports throughout the state as either CIF’s official or preferred Internet provider.
