The Security Innovation Network™ (SINET), an organization focused on advancing Cybersecurity innovation through public-private collaboration, today announced Secretary Michael Chertoff, former Secretary of the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, will deliver the opening keynote at the SINET Showcase 2010 on October 27.
“We are honored to have Secretary Chertoff join us for the SINET Showcase and to set the stage for the day long discussion on the critical importance of public-private collaboration to defeat global security threats,” said Robert Rodriguez, Founder and Chairman of SINET. “Secretary Chertoff has been a leader in driving awareness of Cybersecurity threats and advocating development of strategies to protect our nation’s vital resources.”
Mr. Chertoff served as Secretary of the U.S. Department of Homeland Security from 2005-2009. Among his numerous accomplishments as Secretary, Mr. Chertoff spearheaded a national Cybersecurity strategy.
Other highlights of the SINET Showcase include:
- Presentations of innovative technologies by 20 emerging companies selected by an esteemed steering and vetting committee.
- Thought leaders from across major industries, government, academia and the venture capital and investment banking communities.
- Two high-level panel discussions on the importance of advancing innovation through open and new collaborative models.

The SINET Showcase will be held on October 27 beginning at 8:30 a.m. The half-day SINET Workshops on October 26 will run from 1:00-5:30 p.m. Both the SINET Showcase and the Workshops are being held at the National Press Club, Washington, D.C.
