Chicago Lawyer 2010 Settlement Survey places firm at top, reporting 22 cases settled for combined total of $118.45 million

We're delighted with our firm's performance in this year's settlement survey because it reflects the hard work that our attorneys did for our clients over the past year and the results we were able to obtain on their behalf

The Chicago-based law firm Power Rogers & Smith has come out on top in the Chicago Lawyer 2010 Settlement Survey of law firms in the area.

The survey, which was detailed in the magazine's October 1, 2010 issue, reported that Power Rogers & Smith settled 22 cases for a total of $118.45 million in the past year. This placed the firm at the top of the survey results for both the number of cases settled and the dollar value of the settlements, with no other law firm in the region settling more than 20 cases or completing settlements in excess of $100 million.

"We're delighted with our firm's performance in this year's settlement survey because it reflects the hard work that our attorneys did for our clients over the past year and the results we were able to obtain on their behalf," said Todd A. Smith, partner at Power Rogers & Smith.

In its report, Chicago Lawyer noted that Power Rogers & Smith's largest settlements included the $16 million settlement of a case of a 47-year-old man whose pickup truck was pinned against a median wall by a tractor-trailer that had rear-ended it, and four medical malpractice cases that settled for $10 million or more.

Named in Chicago Lawyer magazine as the "No. 1 Plaintiff's Law Firm in Chicago," the personal injury law firm of Power Rogers & Smith has been recognized for many years as the leader in Illinois injury law. The firm represents personal injury victims in catastrophic injury and wrongful death claims arising from aviation disasters, automobile accidents, construction accidents, product malfunctions, brain injuries, birth injuries and many other forms of medical malpractice.
