“I can think of no better way to honor those that have served than by doing something that takes care of the families they have left behind. Nobody does it better than the Marine Corps Scholarship Foundation. (MCSF).”

Burbank, CA (PRWEB) October 18, 2010

Desert Storm Veteran turned stand up comedian James P. Connolly brings a Veterans Day Comedy Show to the brand new Flappers Comedy Club in Downtown Burbank, CA. The event takes place Thursday November 11th at 8PM and will raise funds for the Marine Corps Scholarship Foundation. Connolly will bring some of his funniest friends to the stage including Sirius/XM and KLOS 5 O’Clock Funnies favorites Don Friesen and Mark Eddie, Scott Henry (Comedy Central, Chelsea Lately), Drake Witham (Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson), Matt Iseman (Clean House, Host of “Sports Soup”), and Jimmy Brogan (former head writer for The Tonight Show with Jay Leno).

As a deployed Marine in the Persian Gulf in 1991, Connolly knows first hand the sacrifices Veterans have been asked to make. “I can think of no better way to honor those that have served than by doing something that takes care of the families they have left behind. Nobody does it better than the Marine Corps Scholarship Foundation. (MCSF).”

The MCSF (http://www.mcsf.org) is a non-profit organization providing educational opportunities to deserving sons and daughters of Marines with particular attention given to children whose parent has been killed or wounded in action. Additionally, the Foundation's Heroes Tribute fund provides up to $30,000 over four years to every child of a Marine, or Navy Corpsman serving with the Marines, who has been killed in combat since September 11, 2001.

Even Connolly will admit not everything about being a Veteran involves sacrifice. After putting Veterans license plates on his car, a friend told him when the police see the plates they let you slide. “I was thinking great!” said Connolly, “But how do I know now what crimes I am eligible to commit?”

James P. Connolly (http://www.jamespconnolly.tv) attended Harvard University on a Marine Corps ROTC Scholarship and then served four years as a Marine Infantry Officer. He has appeared on Comedy Central, VH1, the nationally syndicated Bob & Tom Radio Show and is one of the most played comedians on the Sirius/XM Comedy Channels. James has also made multiple trips overseas to entertain troops in Iraq and Afghanistan.

Veterans Day Comedy Show takes place Thursday November 11th at 8PM in the Main Showroom at Flappers Comedy Club in Downtown Burbank, CA. Tickets are $25 and are available online at http://www.flapperscomedyclub.com or by calling 818-845-9721.
