The City of Crown Point, IN, awards In-Pipe Technology with a three-year renewal contract for treating the sewer collection system.

In-Pipe Technology Company®, Inc. announced today that the City of Crown Point, IN, has renewed their contract for green sewer collection system treatment service with In-Pipe for three years. The three-year, fixed price contract is valued at over $0.5 Million.

The City of Crown Point selected In-Pipe in August of 2007 to improve the treatment capacity of the wastewater treatment plant without capital improvements. Capital expansion of the sludge storage building, estimated at $400,000, and digester tank, estimated at $1.1 million, is still postponed. Additionally, to date the City of Crown Point has saved over $225,000 in operating expenses by using    In-Pipe’s green sewer collection treatment service. Based on current performance, the City is expected to save over $675,000 in operating expenses over the course of the new three-year contract.

Chris Previs, Wastewater Treatment Plant Manager with the City of Crown Point stated, "In-Pipe has improved operation of nearly all aspects of the Crown Point wastewater treatment plant and the payback even got the Mayor’s attention." “Chris Previs and the entire Crown Point treatment plant team have been a pleasure to work with over the last three years,” said John Williams, President & CEO of In-Pipe Technology. “We look forward to their continued cooperation and support.”

In-Pipe’s patented technology includes regularly adding a high concentration formulation of facultative, naturally-occurring, non-pathogenic bacteria to strategic locations throughout the sewer system in accordance with an engineered plan. This requires zero capital cost and no additional energy requirement. Performance in the collection system provides increased capacity within the plant, forestalls costly upgrades, and extends the life of the existing infrastructure.

In-Pipe Technology offers specialized technical expertise, strong customer understanding, and deep resource knowledge. Since In-Pipe uses natural, biological methods that work with the treatment plants’ own processes, In-Pipe is a sustainable solution − environmentally and economically.
