CmomGo.com Launches First iPhone App for Busy Moms and their Private Groups

CmomGo® http://www.cmomgo.com announced today that their iPhone app is available for $1.99. Through January 1, 2011, 50% of CmomGo’s revenue received from the sale of the app will go to a charity that is focused on fighting childhood hunger in the USA*. Given the statistic that 17 million children, nearly one in four, aren't sure where their next meal is coming from, the CmomGo team felt is was a great cause to be a part of.

CmomGo, with the tagline "Keeping today’s busy moms in the loop" has become a great site for today's moms and their "private circles". The site is being used by a variety of circles. A few examples include a 70 member mom and tots circle with over 1200 content items, a 17 member PTO circle with 270 content items, and a Pre School mom's circle with over 400 pieces of content.

CmomGo is a little different in that due to the nature of their usage; schools, kids in sports, daisy troops, etc. everything is private. A user doesn’t need to worry or keep track of their privacy settings as they do with facebook and other services.

Althought it's a lofty goal, the team from CmomGo feels that every one of the millions of "iPhone moms" in the world could use their app for one of their own private circles. The team has yet to discover an iPhone app that includes aspects of private groups/circles coupled with activity coordination that is specifically being marketed to moms. According to Jeff Laubach, one of the co-founders, "The decision to build the iPhone app first was pretty easy given the fact that 80% of our mobile users were attempting to hit our site from an iPhone". CmomGo.com's iPhone app allows moms to:

• Access all their circles in one easy spot
• Discuss any topic with their individual circles in real time
• View and access all of their upcoming activities from their given circles
• Post and schedule upcoming activities
• View who from their circle is attending each activity
• Post pictures to your private circles in real time
• Create additional circles using existing iPhone contacts

A mom can do everything on the iPhone app that she can do on the CmomGo web site. The team is looking forward to doing a lot more on the mobile side. As Jeff states, "By continuing to think mobile first, we can bring a lot of these great technologies that are written about everyday to a rather niche market." The CmomGo team has spent a lot of time on the details to make sure that both the iPhone app and the website are simple, clutter free, and fun to use. Even as the team considers expanding the offering, those goals will always be of high priority which they hope will keep the busy mom happy.

*CmomGo.com has signed an agreement with a charity and processed the necessary paper work with the attorney general. Due to the start up nature they are not yet able to use the Charities name.
