I’m thrilled to re-join Tom and the team at Virteva. We are perfectly positioned to help customers implement the coming wave of Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) technologies that are now becoming prevalent.
Minneapolis, MN (PRWEB) October 19, 2010
Virteva, a leading Twin Cities-based IT firm, today appointed Dave Walstad as its vice president of sales and marketing. Walstad will be responsible for sales and marketing strategy and execution, helping Virteva build on and deliver its tailored IT infrastructure solutions and tiered managed services to companies and enterprise throughout the US. He will be working alongside longtime business associate, CEO and founder of Virteva, Tom Kieffer.
Prior to joining Virteva, Dave was a senior executive at the venture-funded Internet startup, Agiliti (also founded by Tom Kieffer), that was a pioneer in the Managed Hosting marketplace and the Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) marketplace. The company was successfully sold after a six-year lifespan and is now part of SunGard.
“I’m thrilled to re-join Tom and the team at Virteva. They’ve established a great reputation as IT infrastructure specialists, and we are perfectly positioned to help customers implement the coming wave of Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) technologies that are now becoming prevalent,” Walstad said.
Walstad brings a unique depth and breadth of experience in sales, marketing and product management to Virteva. Having worked for Pepsico, Qwest, ADC Telecommunications and 3 regional technology companies, Dave has made significant contributions to each organization’s success in positions ranging from account executive to executive vice president of sales and marketing.
Dave earned his BS and MBA degree from the Carlson School of Management at the University of Minnesota and he earned an MS in Telecommunications from St. Mary’s University. He has been an adjunct faculty member in the Graduate Software Engineering Program at the University of St. Thomas and is currently President of the Carlson School Alumni Board. In 2005, Dave was named one of the Twin Cities Business Journal's “Forty under 40” rising stars of business.
