A beautiful adventure that both captures your senses and the Spirit of Provence while awakening, inspiring and enticing a sleeping palette.

The Consul General of France M. David Martinon hosted a book release party for William Widmaier's A Feast at the Beach in Beverly Hills, attracting A-list celebrities, including Sharon Stone, Lisa Kudrow and other celebrities.
The evening's Master of Ceremonies Stephen Salinger, a management consultant and son of Pierre Salinger, gave a masterful speech, the Consul General spoke of Provence and the way the book captures the spirit of this part of France, and then insisted author William Widmaier come up on stage and do a reading .
A Feast at the Beach is based on Widmaier's childhood memories of time spent in St. Tropez and Provence. A Feast at the Beach describes the sounds, tastes, scents, images and traditions that forged his character and transformed him into the person he is today.
"My book is meant as a celebration of la ‘joie de vivre ... the joy of living," said Widmaier. "An homage to Provence, and to the importance of family, friendships, love, and the joys that can be found around the Provençal dinner table. It is my hope that it inspires others to seek out their own joie de vivre."
Each of the chapters also include a traditional recipe, so readers not only get a feel for France by reading each chapter, but they get a “taste” of France through the recipes.
Already favorably reviewed, the book caught the eye of Kelly Preston, who described it as: “A beautiful adventure that both captures your senses and the Spirit of Provence while awakening, inspiring and enticing a sleeping palette."
The evening itself was a tribute to France from the location (La Residence de France, the Consul’s home), to the live music exquisitely performed by Adele Jacques and Russell Rinker from “Paris Loves LA” and the authentic food prepared by some of Los Angeles’s top French food and pastry chefs.
