We’re excited to be able to deliver such a great solution for Android users out of the gate, giving them a polished app based on over a decade of experience building the most reliable and complete relational database app for mobile devices.

DDH Software today announced the launch of the Android version of HanDBase, the venerable mobile database application. It is available now through Google’s Android Market.

HanDBase, a longtime favorite on nearly every other major mobile platform – including iPhone and iPad – has been designed and optimized for the myriad of Android devices available. Users can create, view, and modify databases right on their mobile devices. HanDBase was designed from the ground up for the small screen, and makes it easy to search, sort, filter and find any kind of important information within seconds.
With HanDBase’s features such as popup lists, inline editing, and date/time selectors, editing and filling out records and forms are quick and simple. Like the iPhone version, the Android version offers integration with the popular HanDBase Gallery of over 2,000 database designs, plus the ability to email records and databases to other users.

For users who want more capabilities, such as two-way synchronization with their desktop computers, or the ability to import and edit databases on their desktop, DDH Software is selling separate add-on packages for Windows Desktops which include conduits, with some versions even syncing to popular third party database applications such as Microsoft Access, Filemaker Pro, and more.

On the Mac side, the company offers both a desktop application and a bundle which includes the desktop version and a two-way synchronization conduit with a high level of configurability for synchronization options and automatic backup creation.

The portable nature of smartphone devices used for business puts sensitive personal data at risk and increases the need for the highest level of data security. HanDBase is once again in the lead with its tight, yet practical and easy-to-manage security measures. It employs a unique method of encrypting only the fields that users need encrypted, enabling users to open and view records without needing to decrypt the entire database. This method also affords two-way record level syncing even while the database record data is encrypted.

"For over 12 years, HanDBase has enjoyed consistent praise on mobile devices for its ability to deliver the powerful relational functionality required for a sophisticated database solution, yet keeping it intuitive enough for anyone to use to create databases and lists to organize their life,” said Dave Haupert, president of DDH Software. “With hundreds of thousands of customers, many have long since switched from another platform to Android and have been asking us for a native solution. We’re excited to be able to deliver such a great solution for Android users out of the gate, giving them a polished app based on over a decade of experience building the most reliable and complete relational database app for mobile devices.”

HanDBase for Android is available now in the App Store for an introductory price of US $9.99. Optional desktop companions and packages for Windows and Mac computers are available at DDHSoftware.com starting at US $9.99.
