The Bulgarian Karting Portal started out of a few enthusiasts' passion about a year ago - in December 2009. The small group of karting fans wanted to have their own Internet space, dedicated to karting only. They were going krazy in these little fast things, called karts, almost every weekend all year - in summer, in winter, in heat, rain, and snow. The karting fans were participating in the Bulgarian National Amateur Karting Championship - with professional rules and discipline, yet keeping the fun and the friendship alive. They had already five karting seasons behind. They wanted to go to the next level - one place on the World Wide Web, where they can meet before and after the races, to learn new techniques, to discuss races, wins and losses, to recruit other karting fans to the total fun!
The first thing was the Karting Forum, which was now their home, their private, yet public, space, designated to karting only - their love, their passion, the reason for so many sleepless nights, the reason to stay fit and in good shape. Both boys, girls, men, and women - they all loved karting so much that they would give up anything and go to the karting track to have the next race of their lives. The new karting forum was the perfect place for their needs. There were new and new registrations everyday, reaching hundreds. More and more people were finding out about the karting forum and it got visited by thousands ot karting fans. They started sharing their knowledge, excitement, experience. They were now able to find the best partner to team with, to learn, to prepare strategies.
The forum was soon not enough, so the Karting Portal was created to add a whole new perspective to the karting community. There were daily news about karting races, events, shows, about karting promotions, karting prices. The portal was very unique - it offered full listing of all karting tracks in Bulgaria - many more than anybody could guess before looking in the website. There were karting tracks in tens of cities. All tracks were discovered, sorted out, visited, pictured, the track configurations were made nice and pretty, there was full information about the karting venues - working time, prices, information, track length, websites, contacts information. Until now all this information had never been brought together in one place! From the start of the karting season in the spring of 2010, the portal started publishing all results from all Bulgarian karting events - no matter if amateur, professional, or promotional. More and more people started visiting the website daily to get informed and to stay in touch with the latest news.
In 2010, two brand new tracks opened doors for the karting fans. One of them was pretty close to the capital of Bulgaria - Sofia, and the other was closer to the second biggest city - Plovdiv. These were the Konza and the Velingrad tracks. Two other new karting tracks are on their way to be open in 2011!
Natural compliment to the karting community is the Karting Store, started by the same karting enthusiasts in their effort to get the best quality equipment at the best lowest price possible.
The Bulgarian national Amateur Karting Championship is one of its kind. Tens of racers meet once a month for the next race in the 10-races long Championship. They go from town to town, so that as many karting tracks as possible can have their place in this. They drive the tracks in both directions, and in all available configurations. After the 10 races, there were 9 winners! The championship battle was decided on the last race, after a lot of karting, a lot of action, excitement, strategy, and luck.
After the end of the 2010 karting season, the winners in all classes - professional and amateur - are preparing for a great season finishing party in November and then they are heading towards the Winter Karting Cup, that started its life last winter in the same Karting Community. Many profesiional racers come to race in the amateur championship and more often than not they cannot win! They admit that the amateur pilots are really very good, but for different reasons, cannot race professionally - for financial reasons, for age reasons, or simply because they do not want to go professional.
New opportunities are coming and new plans have been laid out. The Karting Community is going bigger and bigger and their Internet Home is getting better and better. The most powerful engine is the love - love for karting, love for adrenalin, love for racing, love for fast speed. One of the best things for the free time is KARTING! Feel the emotion with us! Feel the love with us!
