The Los Angeles Time Photo of the Year Award winner, Don Schimmel of Orange, CA, is participating in Palm Springs Arts Festival OktoberFest this Halloween weekend.

Tom Sherer, festival producer, observed, “From the ‘20s into the ‘60s, Palm Springs defined Western chic. Don Schimmel’s photographs bring that old Palm Springs Western feel back to life. From images that bring you into the cowboy’s world to perfectly composed and framed scenic portraits of some of the California’s most famous landmarks, we are in awe, wondering, ’how did he know to be there to snap that Moment in Time?’ “

On October 29, 30 & 31, 2010, at the Festival Grounds on Crossley at Ramon in Palm Springs, Don Schimmel (http://donshimmelphotography.com) and scores of artists from around the Country and the World will display a wide variety of both fine art and quality craft offering every level of art lover the perfect opportunity to begin or to add to a collection after meeting the works' creator. These artisans bring contemporary watercolor and oil paintings to Southwestern pottery and images, Navajo and custom jewelry to monumental sculpture, wildly colored glass art to photography, and much more to dazzle your eyes!

All are welcome. Admission to the Festival is $5 for adults; under 18 and Active Military are FREE! Parking is FREE! Valet is available. The venue is handicapped accessible with only Service Dogs allowed.
